About Us
So, life on the job has now become your life in retirement. Make the most of this time and join the only Retired Police Association of its kind, exclusively for retired police officers who served the millions of residents of New York State.
The Retired Police Association was established in 1950, and was created to provide retired police officers from across New York State, a political voice and make sure that they continue to receive the benefits promised upon retirement.
Members of the RPA must have served as police officers, of any rank, in any department, within New York State. As of today there are over 290 different police departments represented within the membership of the RPA.
Now that you are retired, you are no longer represented by your former employer or police associations. Since 1983 the RPA has had a presence in Albany as a member of the Alliance of Public Retirees, which is a group of retiree organizations from across the State that include, fire fighters, Troopers, teachers, and other Statewide retirees.
The RPA is affiliated with not only the Public Retiree Organization, but also with The Police Conference of New York based in Albany. All RPA members not only receive our membership cards annually but also receive PCNY cards as well.
The RPA has over 5000 members that reside in 40 of the 50 United States, which includes Alaska and Hawaii, as well as the Countries of France and Ireland. We are truly a global organization of police retirees.
Today, the RPA is a strong advocate and the leading Retired Police Association for all NYS police retirees, no matter where you currently reside. Your Pension is controlled here in NYS, where our full time Legislative Representative gets laws benefiting us all politically sponsored and drafted. Our past Legislative efforts resulted in the implementation of the COLA that now is part of your NYS Pension.
Your application for membership is just a mouse click away. We look forward to making you part of the Retired Police Association of the State of New York Inc.
